It’s no secret that actress Diane Keaton has impeccable taste—as well as a great passion for architecture and design. In fact, four of her homes have been featured in the pages of Architectural Digest. Even the set design of this year’s NBC comedy The New Normal, cocreated by primetime prince Ryan Murphy, was inspired by Keaton’s stunning Spanish Colonial–style Bel Air house. (The show’s pilot was actually filmed inside the house itself, and Murphy owns another Spanish-style residence that used to be Keaton’s.) So fans of the legendary actress and tastemaker will be excited to hear her second book on the subject of houses was released on October 16 by Rizzoli. House ($85) tracks Keaton’s evolving appreciation for slightly edgier, less conventional styles, including designs by such modernist architects as Tom Kundig, Annabelle Selldorf, and Lake | Flato. In the exquisitely illustrated pages, minimalist barns, repurposed factories, and industrial-inspired farmhouses all prove to be stunning, and surprisingly warm, homes.
