Hermle Clocks History. Time brings experience. Great clocks since 1922.
Franz Hermle founded Hermle Clocks in the South of Germany in the early 1920s. How many hours have passed since Hermle’s timers all over the world, it is hard to estimate. It is clear; Hermle’s clocks, including grandfather clocks and floor clocks, wall clocks, table clocks, ship clocks and regulators, all enjoy an excellent international and global reputation as one the world’s highest-end clock manufacturers, from mechanical clock movements to cases.
The foundation stone for today’s Hermle Clock traditional brand was laid by Franz Hermle in 1922, when he founded Franz Hermle & Sohn in Gosheim. Already in 1930 it was one of the most modern clock production plants in the region, and even after the war the high standard was maintained. In addition to the production and distribution of large-scale mechanical clock movements, mechanical clockworks for other makers and Hermle Biltmore Grandfather Clock model 01131-031171 – Made to Order in Germany itself were the focus of attention from the outset.
The high precision and the perfect precision of every single component have always been the success factors of Hermle clock movements and mechanical clocks. In the 1970s, this led to the addition of CNC lathes and geared parts as an additional business segment. They have now been produced not only for their own needs, but also for other industries such as the automotive industry, mechanical engineering and electrical engineering. In addition, the production of quartz gears began in Reichenbach, not far from Gosheim, Germany, to round off the product range in the lower price segment.
Hermle’s second factory was built for today’s Hermle Uhrenmanufaktur: in Amherst, in the state of Virginia, U.S.A. Only a year later, in 1978, the third generation of the founding family joined Rolf Hermle. He is currently responsible for all three divisions; Hermle Watchmaking, Hermle Mechanical Clockmaking and Hermle Turned Parts. Hermle Clocks is well known for its grandfather clocks, floor clocks, regulators, wall clocks, mantel clocks, tellurium and astrolabium, cuckoo clocks and master timepieces.
And time does not stop at Hermle Clocks. For example, in its clock catalog, clockmaker Hermle has been presenting a number of new models year after year. In the best tradition Hermle offers grandfather clocks and wall clocks to table clocks and ship clocks up to regulators.
