With its striking new showroom, the luxury home-furnishings and interiors brand Dorya is bringing some modern panache to one of Istanbul’s most historic neighborhoods.
Located on the street Akaretler Yoku?u in the ancient Turkish capital—where servants from the Ottoman Empire’s Dolmabahçe Palace lived in the mid-19th century—the 8,000-square-foot, three-story row house was completely refashioned by the company, which moved its corporate headquarters from Turkey to Miami last year.
In the States, Dorya’s home furnishings can be purchased through eight dealers, while the Istanbul location—one of five exclusive showrooms worldwide—demonstrates the company’s role as a full-service interiors firm, capable of crafting custom-made cabinetry, paneling, and flooring. “This is different from our other spaces, because we did it all—the layout, the millwork, the ceilings, the moldings,” says Megan Perry Yorgancioglu, creative director of Dorya USA.
