Skin Deep

With a style that appears effortless, Arielle Noa Charnas, 30, of the blog and Instagram account Something Navy, has been hailed as the Lauren Conrad of the East Coast. Even her social media start is relatable: Ms. Charnas, who grew up in Old Westbury, N.Y., started documenting her looks eight years ago to get over a breakup.

Today she has one million Instagram followers, collaborations with Nordstrom and the active wear line Koral, and a sponsorship with First Aid Beauty. Ms. Charnas, who lives in Manhattan, will be found in the front row at New York Fashion Week and, in all likelihood, pursued by street-style photographers in between the shows. Here are the beauty products that will get her through the week.

Skin Care

I wash my face with Drunk Elephant Beste Jelly Cleanser, and then I use the Dr. Colbert face oil. I actually go to Dr. Colbert — he’s my dermatologist — and he told me he puts the Victoria’s Secret models on this oil. Obviously whatever they use, I’m going to use! Then I use La Mer moisturizing cream on top of that. My skin can get really dry.

At night, I use the Elemis White Flowers makeup remover first. I was using the regular Neutrogena one — I’ve been using it since college — but then I had to change because I was using liquid stay-all-day lipsticks, and they were impossible to get off. The Elemis one is magic. Otherwise, I use the same products as in the morning.

A couple times a week, I use the First Aid Beauty oatmeal mask. I like to do it a couple of weeks after lying out in the sun because it gets all the dead skin off. And the SK-II sheet mask is so good.

Makeup

I have to say, I don’t know much about makeup. I get a lot of recommendations from my two sisters, and I do my own makeup for Instagram. I just have a bunch of key products. I love the Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer and the Bobbi Brown brow kit, which is a duo shadow palette for your eyebrows. I have it in saddle/mahogany. I like a powder because it never looks too heavy. I also use the Bobbi Brown blush duos. They’re great because you can combine them, and they look pretty together.

For under eye, I have the Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer. The Kevyn Aucoin bronzer is the best. Mascara, it’s YSL Shocking or the Kevyn Aucoin Expert. I love the Laura Mercier Face Illuminator in Devotion. I use it as a highlighter and also as an eye shadow. It’s really pretty, and it’s perfect on camera. Occasionally I’ll do the Bobbi Brown gel eyeliner that comes in a little pot.

Fragrance

My favorite right now is the Aerin Rose de Grasse. I found it at my older sister’s apartment. She has so many different rose smells, and this one was a very natural rose. I wear that, or I’ll switch to Byredo Bal d’Afrique. I actually smelled it on one of my husband’s friends and asked what he was wearing. He pulled it off, but I think it’s more of a feminine scent. I stole his smell!

Hair

I love hair stuff. Long Island girls are serious about their hair. Shampoo and conditioner, I use Oribe. I’ll also use the Kérastase Nutritive Masquintense conditioner every other day. I have a blogger friend, Negin Mirsalehi, who started a hair line, and I use her Gisou honey hair oil. I put a tiny bit on my ends before I blow-dry. I’m really into hydrating all around.

My curling iron is my favorite thing in the world, and it’s a Conair Infiniti Pro, from CVS. For a flat iron, my CHI is amazing. I started using it in college. I have very curly roots, so I need a really strong iron. My Bumble and Bumble finishing spray smells so good.

Other Services

I do acupuncture. It was wonderful right after labor, and I also did it when I was trying to get pregnant. I swear she helped get me pregnant with my daughter. For mani-pedis, I love using GlamSquad. I feel guilty leaving my house when my daughter is home, so this makes it easy because they come over. I’m pretty basic with my nails. My favorite colors right now are JINsoon Muse, Essie Hi Maintenance and Essie A List, which is a great red for fall.

Diet and Fitness

I have a trainer, Amanda Kloots, whom I work with three times a week. She bases her workout around a jump rope. It’s definitely hard. Then you start to build that stamina, and it becomes an addiction. I also love SLT for Pilates. I’m always sore after that class.

But I’m not crazy about diets. I am very much about doing everything in moderation. I do eat more throughout the day than three large meals. My whole mentality is that when I’m not restricting myself, I make smarter choices.
