Collectors and designers alike won’t want to miss the Salon: Art + Design, a new fair premiering this week in Manhattan. Sanford Smith, the antiques and art show producer responsible for the annual Outsider Art Fair and the New York Antiquarian Book Fair, has teamed with Syndicat National des Antiquaires to produce the five-day show at the Park Avenue Armory on the Upper East Side. More than 50 international dealers—22 of which participated in September’s Biennale des Antiquaires in Paris—will present an eclectic array of contemporary art and furnishings dating from 1890 to the present day. Many of the galleries, including Christian Deydier, Kraemer, and Oscar Graf, are exhibiting at a New York City fair for the first time. The Salon kicks off with a gala preview on November 7 benefiting the Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club; it opens to the public the following day and runs through November 12. thesalonny.com
