Come fall, five blockbuster museums, all conceived by some of architecture’s biggest names, will have art lovers racking up the frequent-flier miles. In Amsterdam, the venerable Stedelijk—transformed by Dutch firm Benthem Crouwel—reopens on September 23. Six days later Renzo Piano unveils the sweeping Astrup Fearnley Museet in Oslo, while in early October Zaha Hadid is slated to introduce visitors to Michigan State University’s new Eli and Edythe Broad Art Museum in East Lansing. The Museum of Contemporary Art Cleveland, Farshid Moussavi’s first U.S. commission, debuts October 8. And the long-awaited reincarnation of Southampton, New York’s Parrish Art Museum, courtesy of Herzog & de Meuron, will entice Hamptonites starting November 10. It’s enough to energize any culture hound.
