If your spouse’s dying wish was to be illegally buried in another country next to the remains of his ex-wife, would you fulfill it? Even if it meant taking both his and her ashes on a plane, then digging up a field in the dead of night?
Judith Newman was presented with that question before her husband passed away. She wrote about her decision in her surprisingly funny essay, “He’s Going Back to His Former Wife. Sort Of.”
Marisa Tomei, who currently stars in “The Rose Tattoo” on Broadway, reads Ms. Newman’s essay on this week’s Modern Love podcast. Stay tuned after the reading to hear more from her, Modern Love editor Daniel Jones and Ms. Newman, who is also the author of the memoir “To Siri With Love.”
