More than 30 years ago, Ingrid Maitland made a pivotal decision, one that has haunted her and left her wondering about the whereabouts of Emma, a little girl — now a grown woman — Ms. Maitland once had considered adopting.
This week, the Modern Love podcast presents a special episode: a reading of Ms. Maitland’s essay, “The Triangle’s Sharpest Point,” by Zawe Ashton, followed by an investigation to find out what happened to Emma.
Ms. Maitland, a writer, is the author of 20 children’s books. Ms. Ashton, a playwright and actress, currently stars in the Broadway play, “Betrayal.” Stay tuned after her reading to hear the troubling but healing story of what happened in the decades since Ms. Maitland and Emma lost contact.
